One of the most remarkable events in the “Literature and reading” section will be the Plenary meeting “From the Year of Literature to reading country” which will be taking place on 14th of December at 2 pm in St Petersburg State Capella. Yevgeny Yevtushenko, an outstanding Russian and Soviet Union poet, film director, script writer and publicist is going to take part in the Plenary session.
By the way, from 13th to 16th of December within the framework of the Cultural Forum will be held the VI International Congress “Russian literature in the global cultural context. Results of the past year of Literature”, where Yevgeny Yevtushenko will be the moderator of one of the round tables. In total, more than 200 researchers and writers from Russia and foreign countries will come to the event. “Russian literature in the global cultural context” – is a unique event in the world, covering the entire Russian literature from the “The Tale of Igor's Campaign” up to our centaury.
Apart from Yevgeny Yevtushenko sections and round tables will be conducted by a lot of famous and well-known writers and scholars as: Avigdor Eskin, Alexei Varlamov, Vladislav Otroshenko, Karen Stepanyan, Ivan Esaulov, Mikhail Kuraev, Academician Valery Tishkov, Sergey Chuprinin, Irina Barmetova, Valery Popov, Yevgeny Popov, Bakhyt Kenzheev, Vladimir Novikov, Natalya Ivanova, Sergei Yesin, Marina Kudimova, Inna Kabysh, Maria Vatutina, Yevgeny Sidorov, Olesya Nikolaeva and many others.
The presentation of new books will be also held in the IV Cultural Forum. The congress will end up with a great evening of a modern poetry. The main organizer of the congress is The Dostoevsky Fund.
