This year costs aimed at support of the cinema in St.Petersburg amounted 44 million rubles, whereas in 2014 they were almost twice smaller. These figures have been announced by Chairman of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg Konstantin Suhenko during the round table discussion "Project of Cinemafication of Russian Small and Medium-Sized Towns" within the framework of IV St.Petersburg international cultural forum.
- In 2015 we have reached a record amount of funding, - said Suhenko. This year, for example, we purchased a set of digital equipment. A cinema-theatre "Rodina" has joined the programe of equipping.
Also Konstantin Suhenko shared the plans for 2016. According to his words, next year a special attention will be given to a festival "Viva, Russian cinema". In particular, during the preparation of the event domestic cinema directors will be able to count on financial assistance of the Committee. Earlier at the press conference which was held within section "Cinema", producer Vyacheslav Telnov has already claimed readiness of Film Fund to allocate funds for 10 debut film projects.
Besides, Chairman of the city Committee for Culture promised to bring cinema to the streets of St. Petersburg. He is sure that should continue using public places for free shows.
Round table discussion "Project of Cinemafication of Russian Small and Medium-Sized Towns" took place within the framework of section "Cinema" of IV St.Petersburg international cultural forum. Directors, cinema managers, producers and critics were discussing the problem of development of theatrical network in Russia. The moderator was a famous specialist in the sphere of cinema art Fyodor Bondarchuk.
A set of digital equipment usually consists of digital cinema projector, podium for the projector, projection screen and other components. Depending on the room size the cost is amounted from 45 to 120 thousand dollars.
