December 15, at 15:00 there was a signning of an agrement on the intention in the field of information and telecommunications infrastructure of cultural institutions and the provision Russian citizens with the access to cultural goods, including the usage of latest information and telecommunication technologies.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhuravsky and Deputy General Director of "MegaFon" in Northwest region Alexey Titov.
Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhuravsky expressed his appreciation to the telecommunication partner of IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum "MegaFon" and noted: "The agreement should determine further prospects for cooperation on cultural exchanges within the framework of long-term strategic objectives".
Alexey Titov on behalf of "MegaFon" thanked Dputy Minister and emphasized the importance of the development of telecommunication technologies in the field of culture. "It is symbolic that the signing of the agreement took place in St. Petersburg, - said Alexei Titov. - It is here where the company "MegaFon" started its journey. Over the years we have gained experience and expertise in the implementation of technical and infrastructure solutions on different objects and events. Today, we continue to work on implementing the latest technologies, in particular, on objects of cultural heritage. For us this is not just ordinary project, but the opportunity to strengthen the role of St. Petersburg as a center of cultural life of Russia."
The agreement concerns specific projects in St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, however, the signatories noted that it is necessary to extend the work beyond the region.
The agreement involves the development of modern telecommunications infrastructure in the field of art and culture, including the use of mechanisms of high-speed access to information resources; the provision of information to promote cultural organizations and theor events.
