Yesterday, December 23, at 19 pm a concert "Tchaikovsky Gala" was held, which became the solemn conclusion of the Year of Tchaikovsky on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg under the control of the People's Artist of Russia and head of the section "Music" at the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum Sergey Stadler, as well as leading soloist of St. Petersburg performed excerpts and scenes from operas, ballets and other symphonic works of the great Russian composer.

The concert was attended by the prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theatre People's Artist of Russia Yulia Mahalina and soloists - Honoured Artist of Russia Galina Sidorenko (mezzo-soprano), Honored Artist of the Republic of Karelia Vladimir Tselebrovsky (baritone), laureate of international contests Ekaterina Shimanovich (soprano) and the winner international competitions Artyom Melikhov (tenor).

By the way, about a year ago, on the eve of 2015, the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sergey Stadler also gave the start of the Year of Tchaikovsky. Then the musicians performed six symphonies.
