Director-General of  UNESCO Irina Bokova approach with the letter of gratitude  to Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky regarding the results of her participation in IV Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

“I have deeply appreciated your government’s decision to devote this year’s edition of the Cultural Forum to UNESCO’s anniversary, and to participate in its work at your generous invitation. Indeed, the Cultural Forum was an exceptional occasion to celebrate the power of culture and to showcase the Russian Federation’s colossal contribution to the promotion of cultural diversity, cultural industries and inter-cultural dialogue worldwide,” she wrote.

Director-General of  UNESCO  also says : “During the visit, I appreciate your country’s commitment to and participation in the protection of cultural heritage in conflict zones. This was also reflected in the UN Security Council Resolution 2199, initiated by the Russian Federation”.

In concluding, she underline that: “I enjoyed our cordial and friendly conversations on a wide range of issues of common interest on several occasions during this pleasant and memorable visit to Saint Petersburg”
