People’s Artist of Russia, virtuoso violinist, conductor and educator Sergey Stadler will become the curator of the Music Section of the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
In 2015 the Music section will include a broad range of discussions, cultural and educational events. The central event in the program will be the international conference of heads of Russian and European concert organizations, who will discuss the ways of attracting viewers in the regions and the problem of holding concerts at UNESCO Cultural Heritage sites, Russian and international museums.
Leading faculty members from music education programs will discuss the problems and perspectives for development of the Russian school of classical music. The gem of the event will be a performance of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, led by the section’s curator Sergey Stadler.
Sergey Stadler is one of the most famous Russian musicians, who was referred to as “the Russian Paganini” by Academician D. S. Likhachev. Mr. Stadler is winner of top prizes and grand prix awards of international competitions in Prague, Paris, Helsinki and Moscow. At various points in time he headed the Theater of Opera and Baller of St. Petersburg Conservatory, the Ekaterinburg Theater of Opera and Ballet and served as Rector of St. Petersburg Conservatory. Today Sergey Stadler serves as artistic director of St. Petersburg Concert, State Budgetary Institution of Culture, as well as principal conductor of St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra.
