The IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum at the Baltic Weekend

Egor Moskvin and Andrey Moguchy presented St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum at the Baltic Weekend 2015 – the biggest forum on communications in Eastern Europe – for the first time.

The interplay of culture and business will be one of the most important issues of the coming Forum. Representatives of Russian and international business community will be the main participants of a business flow which is destined to become the driving-force of such a dialogue. The discussion programme of the flow targets discussing cultural establishments’ attractiveness for investments and defining the main mechanisms of supporting cultural initiatives.

Egor Moskvin, the head of the Forum directorate, also emphasized a special relevance of supporting cultural events of this framework and Russian culture in general in the context of current foreign relations. The dialogue of cultures and popularization of rich intellectual and material cultures of our country are tools of promoting Russia on the international arena, mechanisms of forming a positive public image of the state in the world.

Andrey Moguchy, a curator of Theatre section, accented that a special place at the Forum will be occupied by social projects, in particular theatrical projects targeting physically challenged people and creative outreach campaigns for children. Initiatives of this kind are a popular practice in the world and they are interesting for both direct target audience and investors.

Some significant events will be held within the Forum, and grand opening of the building of the Bolshoi St. Petersburg State Circus on Fontanka after reconstruction is one of them. Already in October there starts a wide-ranging festival programme under the aegis of the Forum including concerts, theatrical performances, public lectures and master classes for citizens and guests of Russia’s capital of culture.
