The strategy of holding the International Cultural Forum was discussed in St. Petersburg

On September, 25 in Legislative assembly of St. Petersburg was held the working meeting on a question of preparation and holding the IV St. Petersburg international cultural forum with participation of representatives of the Russian Government Office, Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg, and also heads and representatives of sections of the Forum: Semyon Mikhaylovsky, Oleg Ryzhkov, Sergey Stadler, Boris Eifman, Vyacheslav Polunin, Vadim Gagloyev, etc. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Olga Golodets.

The participants of the meeting especially noted that this year the St. Petersburg international cultural forum devoted to the 70 anniversary of UNESCO comes to new level. It will become really the most significant cultural event of modern Russia and will unite the leading world experts in the fields of culture, arts, education, and also politicians and businessmen. Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova will visit the forum with the delegation.

 

"The central theme of work of the Forum is preservation of world cultural heritage. Today, this issue is a matter of topical interest. The cultural community unites to draw attention of the politicians and the public to one of the most serious problems of the present and to find a way to keep and restore that belongs to all mankind by right", - the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Olga Golodets told.

 

The framework of twelve thematic sections of the Forum includes about two hundred multi format events. The number of participants is expected to be unprecedented. This year each registered participant can come to the Forum accompanied by his or her family members. The organizers offer excursion programs with visit of the main sights of St. Petersburg especially for them. They believe, the IV St. Petersburg international cultural forum will become a new impulse for development of tourism in Russia.
