On the 13 November at the General Staff Building of the Hermitage there was a press conference of the section "Museums and exhibition projects”. It was attended by Mikhail Piotrovsky - Chairman of the Union of Museums of Russia, General Director of the State Hermitage, Boris Arakcheev - Executive Director of the Union of Museums of Russia, Mikhail Kuzmin - Deputy Director of the Directorate of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. More than ten museums of St. Petersburg are preparing a special program on the days of the Cultural Forum, not only for the participants of the Forum, but for St. Petersburg citizens and its guests. For example, the Hermitage will present one of the most famous halls of the Winter Palace after its reconstruction - Peter Hall. Within the framework of the IV International Cultural Forum major museums of St. Petersburg will present their programs: Russian Museum, the State Museum of Political History of Russia, the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the Museum-Institute of the Roerich family, the National Pushkin Museum, Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad, the State Museum of the History of Religion and others.
"This year on the Cultural Forum we celebrate anneversary of the UNESCO and the beginning of the list of UNESCO in Russia. Particular attention is paid to the round table devoted to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO and the 80th anniversary of the Roerich Pact. Also exhibition will be opened in the Hermitage General Staff Building and it will showcase the first models of the objects that were included in the UNESCO list. In addition, as part of the Cultural Forum, we will describe in detail about our plans for the Stock Exchange building - there will be the Museum of awards and the Museum of Heraldry", - said at a press conference, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage.
As part of the forum section "Museum and exhibition projects" such cultural events as the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the international edition of The Art Newspaper will take place. Several events of the section "Museums and exhibition projects" will be devoted to A. Pushkin: the opening of the exhibition "Relics of the Pushkin House" at the Institute of Russian Literature, as well as a recital of A. Pushkin great great great granddaughter Natalia Pavlova. As part of the Cultural Forum the opening ceremony of the exhibition "History of the Museum-apartment of A. Pushkin” will be held at the National Pushkin Museum. This year, the Pushkin House celebrates its 110th anniversary, and the Museum-apartment AS Pushkin - its 90th anniversary.
The program "Days of Italy in the Hermitage" will be presented by Italian Minister Franceschini. During the visit, Minister of culture and tourism of Italy will discuss the agreement on possible cooperation on joint projects between the two states aimed at expanding the international cultural space between Russia and Italy.
IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of UNESCO, will be held from 14 to 16 December. One of the main platforms for the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum will be at the Hermitage General Staff Building.
