This time it will be about the art of clowning, which in recent decades, much more interesting was developing on the stage and urban areas, rather than the circus arenas. Section "Circus and street theatre" has set itself an ambitious goal at the Forum to unite and revive the tradition of clowning. The real stars of the circus from different countries will come to participate in the activities of the Forum. For example, their presence confirmed the clown-provocateur Leo Bassi, the "King of Fools" Jango Edwards, granddaughter Fratellini and the great Russian clown Oleg Popov. "The last 30 years of circus clowns leave arenas. “There is a feeling that it is time to return the real circus, and the circus without clowns is not possible” - said Vyacheslav Polunin. Representatives of the world's best schools of clowning will come to the Forum.
The second subsection, which traditionally operates in the framework of the Forum, called "Sociocircus." It is about supporting the professional circus areas related to the solution of social problems. In 2013, we talked about projects where clowns work in hospitals and ease the suffering of young and adults; in 2014 we studied the experience of children's circus studio, which brought up the potential circus, as to raise an acrobat or gymnast is possible only if you start training from an early age. This year, we will talk about how the circus can help older people and to inspire them to a full creative life.
Natalia Tabachnikova talks about specific examples of work of the section - "We came up with the project "Old Rascals" for clowns, where circus performers, retired, pass on their experience to the young. At the Forum will take place a master class by Alexander Frei, who created the French organization "Grandmas, Want to Get a Job in a Circus?" He will share his experience of creative work with the elderly."
For the first time this year, there was created sub-section "Industry of circus". Its work will focus on optimizing the management of today's circus activities, opportunities to attract investments, transformation of a circus production in successful and profitable business. "We expect 52 clowns to arrive to the Forum and they will be not only participants, but they also will go to hospitals, child care facilities, it will be a citywide event. At the meetings of the sub-section "of the circus industry" we will discuss what should be a circus platform interesting for investors. We need new people, directors, non-standard approaches,"- says the head of the section Vadim Gagloyev.
In the framework of the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum on December 15, there will be the grand opening of the Circus on Fontanka, Ciniselli Circus. “Ciniselli Circus - it's like Grand Theatre, La Scala, it is an amazing thing," - says Vadim Gagloyev.
