Folklore Education Centre will be established in St. Petersburg

 

One of the highlights of the section "Folk Art and Intangible Cultural Heritage" will be the opening of Folklore Education Center at St. Petersburg State Institute of Culture, told rector of academic institution Alexander Turgaev in the “Russian radio” broadcast. During the "Neva morning” show, the professor explained what will be engaged in the new center, and some more exciting events that await participants of the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

 

According to Alexander Turgaev, educational center helps to study the development of folklore in the regions to carry out an interesting educational work with the students, and will also be a meeting place for professionals in this field. The new venue will be opened in the year of the 70th anniversary of UNESCO and the 100th anniversary of the State House of Folk Arts.

 

In addition, section awaits guests conference "Traditional Culture and the Present", contests of arts and crafts, performances by readers and much more. Separately Alexander Turgaev noted children's festival "Living Spring", which will be held on December 15 at the Russian Ethnographic Museum, where as professor promised, exhibits will come to life and even will sing.

 

- The richer the culture, the more thoroughly the relationship between various representatives of culture, the more productive the world, - said Alexander Turgaev. - That's what we care, including our section.
