In June 2015 the International Festival "Intermuseum" sociological study was conducted among museum staff and museum visitors. It showed that more than half of the museum visitors want to hear the music in the museum, and a quarter of respondents - in principle burdened by the silence of the museum halls. Does this mean that the museum's time to think not only about how it looks, but how it sounds? The human ear creates in the mind a multi-layer image, telling sometimes that is not available to the eye. It gives birth to imagination, awakens associations and prompts the road. We wanted to discuss the possibilities of museums in the area and especially the use of music and sound in museum communication.
- Music and sound as an exhibit. The methods and techniques of presentation of music in the museum space, definition of the concept of music as a museum exhibit.
- Music and sound as an object of research and experiment. In the context of a museum or interdisciplinary projects with the active inclusion of the museum.
- Music and sound as a means of expression. The role of music in shaping the image of the museum, innovative approaches to its inclusion in the overall ensemble of the museum, both in the museum and beyond.
- Technologies and equipment. Sound installation. Integration into the exhibit envitonment.
In the framework of the round table will take place presentation of projects of new audio solution exhibits of the Museum of Music in Sheremetev Palace and Memorial Museum-apartment of N. Rimsky-Korsakov.
